Subject: RE: Tech: Cakewalk question
I don't know the program. I use "Professional 3" but have tried other later versions. As far as I know, on the one I use and on the others I have tried, it simply can't be done and would use the same approach as Malcolm.

I thnk that we again come down to understanding different types of music packages and recognising what we are trying to do with them. MIDI sequencing software is not really a tool to produce "written" music. Cheap/ free solutions including abc, Noteworth Composer and Melody assistant will all do better.

I've never run into the Cakewalk program Pete Boom mentions but by its name, it does sound as if it may well be notation orientated and would cater for details like repeats.
