Couldn't agree more, Fred. These gratuitous farters must be stopped. They are offensive, tedious, and not funny.

Cluin - I hate advertising just as much as you do. The best place to go where you can get away from it is Cuba (but not for long if Uncle Sam succeeds in taking over...). I really miss the days when you could rent a video and not have to see ads for 5 or 6 other totally undesirable movies before you get to see the one movie you actually paid to see. (You can FF through them, of course...you don't have that luxury when sitting in the movie theatre.)

People put up with this crap for two reasons. 1. They don't know any better. 2. There appears to be no escape.

Those are the same two reasons for why people put up with a political party system that doesn't really represent them, and a democracy that isn't real either.
