Thread Name: Lyr Req: Please help 'Hucka Chucka soda cracka'?'
Subject: DTADD Version: Green Green Rocky Road
I found the Henske arrangement - it's on her self-titled album, released on Elektra in 1963 and recently reissued on CD. She calls it "Hooka Tooka," and says it's traditional, arranged by Henske. It has elements of the Chubby checker version I posted above, and elements from the "Green Rocky Road" version in the Digital Tradition (see links above).
On the Website of The McGarrigles I found this transcript from The McGarrigle Hour, which is even closer to the Henske version.

GREEN GREEN ROCKY ROAD
P.D. Arrangement: K & A McGarrigle, Garden Court Music ASCAP

When I go to baltimore
Got no carpet on my floor
Please get up and follow me
We'll go down in history

Green green rocky road
Promenade in green
Tell me who d'you love
Tell me who d'you love

See that crow up in the sky
He don't sing neither can he fly
He can't walk nor can he run
He's black paint splattered on the sun

Green green etc...

(Full break (verse and chorus))

Little miss jane runnin' to the ball
Don't you stumble don't you fall
Don't you scream and don't you shout
When I sing come runnin' out

Green green etc...

Hooka tooka soda cracker
Does your mama chew tobacco
If your mama chew tobacco
Hooka tooka soda cracker

Green green etc....

When I go to baltimore
Got no carpet on my floor
Please get up and follow me
'We'll go down in history

Green green......

I also found this (click), which purports to be the Emmylou Harris arrangement of the song, using only the "D" chord. It's from the McGarrigle Hour recording. Now I'll have to watch the McGarrigles and see who sings what - and what chord(s) they play.
