Thread Name: Origins: Rose, Rose, Rose, Rose (Traditional)
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Rose, Rose, Rose, Rose (Traditional)
I added crosslinks up top to other threads on this song, and to the Digital Tradition version (including tune). I think the DT version is closest to the one I learned when I was growing up.

Here's the version from the Rise Up Singing songbook, with a tune that isn't what I learned as a kid:
Rose, Rose, Rose, Rose
Shall I e-ver see thee wed?
Aye, mar-ry, that thou wilt
If thou but stay

(same as lyrics in DT)

Here's the version from Sol Weber's Rounds Galore which is closer to what I know:
Rose, Rose, Rose, Rose
Shall I e-ver see thee wed?
I shall mar-ry at thy will sire
If thou but stay
