Subject: RE: PELs - Protest invitation 18/20 July
There are plenty of opportunities to make music but can someone organise some dance sides?

The set up is that the one village road - from the marquee site to the main festival stage and the Martyrs Inn is effectively closed to traffic. The procession of union banners goes from the main stage to the Martyrs Inn on the Sunday when there will be most spectators present.

The free watching events on the Sunday will take place on the main stage so would not stop anyone from dancing elsewhere, especially outside the Martyrs Inn where are always plenty of people to watch.

So any sides wish to attend would be free to dance as much or as little as they choose. Outside the pub would be favourite especially but there will be a beer tent at the marquee and at the main stage- the whole distance is just over quarter of a mile.

The TUC have in the past placed the emphasis for the Friday and the Saturday on music to attract folk to stay all weekend but up to now, as far as I know there has not been any traditional dance - but this I suspect is because no one has been asked or has offered before.

The event is really crying out for traditional dance but I don't really have many contacts with dance sides so any help will be welcome.
