Just about anything American labeled "coming of age" because most of the characters coming of age are well-built jerks who learn nothing except new sexual positions. Gangster flicks. Gangsta flicks. Yes, life sucks for a lot of my fellow Americans and for many people around the world. I learn the gory details from NPR and the newspapers; I go to movies to escape. That said, I do enjoy films that make me think as long as they are not depressing.
