Yer making me jealous, Dave. Out here in the wild west just about all we have now are the really old, down and outs like the Lazy 8 or North 40 and the yuppie, pseudo-fern bars. There used to be the Dew Drop Inn, which was okay for old timey ranch atmosphere, but I hear someone from California bought it and don't know what they did to it. Guess someday I ought to drive the forty or so miles out into the boonies of the high plains and check it out. BUT, no dawgs are allowed in any of them that I know of.

Drinking here, in bars, changes most peoples personnas, too. People get mauldin, mean, fighting drunk, pleasantly smashed, but I don't see the atmosphere being conducive to civility. Usually it is fraught with the innuendos of sexual conquest, macho men contests, etc.

Oooo, sorry everyone, I sound as though all I drink is from a "bitters" cup, eh?? Now, if I could only find me a good pub!
