Not that it matters, but I *suspect* that the book GUEST,leeneia was talking about was "The Prisoner of Azkaban", and that the "dragon" she/he seems to remember was in fact the Hippogriff, Buckbeak. Of, course, I may be wrong.

I love the books myself, and am patiently waiting for "Order of the Phoenix" to come out in paperback.
