My brother was staying at a friend's house and awakened during the night. He went down the hall to do what he had to do, and on the way back to his room was surprised to see the profile of a man in shadow at the end of the corridor.

He mentioned it the next morning at breakfast and was told, "Oh, yeah. That's just Dad. We've all seen him. He just hangs around some nights keeping an eye on things."

The end of hall had no window, just a door to the attic. Nothing to cast a shadow such as he saw.

Dad had been dead for seven years at the time.
