Word of mouth, genera, friend of a friend, familiarity, not doing something else, doesn't interfere with my regularly scheduled music jam, already have a CD of her/him/them, a friend wants company, I'm curious about his/her/their fame, read a glowing review by someone whose judgment I trust- plus other factors.
