Subject: RE: Lyr Req: come all ye gallant drivers From: Crazy Eddie Date: 10 Oct 01 - 07:04 AM We built a hundred airfields In the snow & wind & rain Built atomic powerstations, more dams than i can name. We've ploughed theough rock & concrete, Moved mountains by the load Now we're goin' nice & steady boys, Diggin' up the road. Is this the one? If so it was written by Ewan McColl. I have it on CD at home. However, I won't be able to get to it for about a week. I'll trace this thread. If this IS the correct song, & if you haven't got the words by then, I'll have a listen & post them. Regards, Eddie |

Subject: Lyr Add: DRIVER'S SONG (Ewan MacColl) From: Crazy Eddie Date: 22 Oct 01 - 09:56 AM Come all you gallant drivers, Wherever you may be, Whether you drive a Euclid, or a 54 RB. Keep your hands upon the levers, Cut and fill a steady load, And take it nice & steady boys, Diggin' up the road.
Verse 2 is as given above (10-Oct-01 - 07:04 AM), but line 5 should read "ROCK & SWAMPLAND" not "ROCK & CONCRETE"
