I was wondering about popping sounds as well do you think the weather conditions may have contributed to it?
Maybe there was a thunder head at a distance over the land?
MCp thanks for that kind comment re MC bit was bit weird to do for first time but with the classy performers and audience not as bad as could have been.
I must try not to be so easily distracted when trying to play though.
But what normal man could keep his mind on higher things when the lovely Gwenda is at his feet fiddling with his wttsit?

GS...no, sniff sniff...I never got any of the chocolate... I was gutted! :-(
We had some potato-head-low-fat-tiny-packet-wouldn't-feed-a-flea crisps and a bottle of diet coke... what a feast!

Villan, no, my accordion doesn't usually do that. I think it may have been a gremlin, elsewhere but it is always difficult to pinpoint that sort of thing. I wished I had unplugged earlier because I begin to play really cautiously and tried to stand really still in case moving about made it worse. Is the downside of having a PA, great when all is well but can be distracting when you are performing if there is a problem. I thought G & T did a good job with the sound in spite of my accordion hiccups. It is no mean feat sorting so many different acts out in one night, plus a lot of work.

It was a nice evening but perhaps the heating could be turned off, now, Villan, it was very cosy...!

Tim, you did fine. Its not easy opening the evening and being the first time on stage at MRFC, as well as MCing.

Thanks to everyone for a great night - I had a lot of fun and enjoyed the whole evening. Bill and Shirley Whaley coming along to see me was a surprise and a delight for me. Thanks to Tim for MCing and Terry & Gwenda for doing the sound, and a big thanks to Les for inviting me along again.

Thanks for kind reception/comments re Twanglers last night.
Was dissapointed wiht my own performnce as made a lot of mistakes luckily I had The two Twanglettes to drag me out of the mire.
I thought the rest of the evening was superb, HK picked up the peices
and Andrew ,who I had never heard before was superb,
great set by him
Of course T&G were brilliant and Mick pearce put it to bed in a professional manner.
Well done the audience BTW
The singing on our chourus bits was great and very welcome.

Enjoyed the night, although was preoccupied at first as couldn't decide if my accordion causing the problem with the sound....(cue accordion jokes, lol!)
I consider it my duty to make sure there are not just guitar things playing all night, hee hee :-)
Could have done with a bag of chips though, I always get hungry by the 2nd half, doh!
I love the fact that you hear lots of acts and get to know who different people are at the club. I like the variety, too.
Long may it continue!

Oh incidentally, it was very nice to see Bill Whaley and his wife come along. That was a surprise. They came to see Mick Pearce perform, but in Chatting to Bill he said how much he enjoyed the other performances as well.

Great night again tonight with all acts excellent. Tims debut (with the rest of the Twanglers of course) was brilliant. Helian Keys, terrific! Andrew T..thanks for doing the Clifford T Ward song...you were great. Gwenda and Terry performed brilliantly both in their spot and on the PA and Mick...Well what can we say about Mick Pearce....Top notch and thanks for doing 'Thirteen Florins' Mick.

Type your username and password and click on go.
