Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Big Mick Date: 16 Oct 06 - 07:30 PM This is in July, right? I say all of us US 'catters get up there and support this gathering. If they will have us. I would love to meet some of the folks, and meet up with some I know already. Let's make this a do. Would that be alright with you folks? Mick |

Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Beer Date: 16 Oct 06 - 06:50 PM That depends from where West are you coming from? If it is B.C. then of course you do. But if your coming from state side no problem. The dates are July 27,28 and 29 Admission for the past 4 years has been $10.00 in advance $15 at the gate. Friday no charge as well as Sunday. It has been pass the hat. However, this may change a bit this year. Camping is free to a point. If you need electrical hook up then it is $10.00 a day/night. The grounds has plenty of room for trailers, boats , planes or even pup tents. If you want to park your car on the property and sleep in it no problem. Just turn the motor off. Beer |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: ragdall Date: 16 Oct 06 - 06:30 PM Beer, Will we need a passport to go to Quebec? ;) What are the 2007 dates? How much is the cost of admission to the festival? Does the free camping include "car camping?" (Could I park my car and sleep in it instead of putting up a tent?) Thanks, rags |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Beer Date: 16 Oct 06 - 06:27 PM You sure are welcomed Sunsull. If I had room you could stay at my (our) house. I usually have about 15 in-laws and outlaws staying over. I have folks that come in from Saint Thomas and London Ont. In a very short time I will be able to announce some of the changes we are working on for 2007. I'm excited about them but the almighty dollar may still be the problem. Anyone want to donate around ten grand or suggest some millionaire that wants a tax receipt for a donation? Let me know. Beer |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Peace Date: 16 Oct 06 - 06:22 PM I don't know where the notion came from that non-Canucks would not be welcome. Unfounded. Of course everyone/anyone's welcome. |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: SINSULL Date: 16 Oct 06 - 06:13 PM I can make it if those of us below the Border are welcome. SINS |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Peace Date: 16 Oct 06 - 06:10 PM Yes. Please. Whatever you want. Workshop for beginner songwriters, open tuning stuff, sing a few songs, it's up to you. |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Beer Date: 16 Oct 06 - 06:04 PM Peace, Does that mean I pencil you in???? I've just started the bookings. Beer |

Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Beer Date: 16 Oct 06 - 05:45 PM Don't come down this end of the threads much but glad I did. Sure would be nice to have a mudcat rally at our festival. Thanks for suggesting it Bobad. Maybe I could suggest to the board that a special weekend rate could be made for you mudcatters traveling all the way here to central Canada. Or is it Toronto? Beer |

Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Barry Finn Date: 16 Oct 06 - 04:39 PM Cross half of Canada in the snow for a mudcat meet? "Come on Dasher, Bowler, Bellman, Diedo, Bendigo, Gentry, Traveler, Countess, Drover, Bonnie Lass, Rover, let's go. Get the sled out of the shed, we're mgoing singing". Not. Barry |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: GUEST,mg Date: 16 Oct 06 - 04:16 PM On Dec. 2 weekend the Vancouver BC folks host a lovely camp withusually great music south of B.C...not far from American border. I have gone quite a few times and it is great. mg |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Raptor Date: 16 Oct 06 - 03:44 PM How about Central Canada then? Toronto or Ottawa? |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: ragdall Date: 16 Oct 06 - 03:40 PM I'd love to go, if I can find a way to get there. It's a very, very long drive, though, and my poor little old car is rusting out (big holes through the floor). A big SUV coming from the West Coast and picking up others along the way, would be nice. |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Little Hawk Date: 16 Oct 06 - 03:28 PM Having people over for a Canadian meet is kind of like having people over for a Russian meet. You've only got about a billion or so hectares of land to choose from when agreeing on exactly where it will take place. ;-) |

Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: C. Ham Date: 16 Oct 06 - 02:07 PM There were rumors this past year that Bruce Murdoch would be performing. Alas, he wasn't on the list when the artists were announced. If he's going to be there next summer -- and I suppose if Peace is coming it's a really good sign -- then I'm making the trip from T.O. |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Peace Date: 16 Oct 06 - 12:56 PM Well, that would be more then because he is also sIx. |

Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Peace Date: 16 Oct 06 - 10:43 AM Hell, Midchuck, a southerner to a Montrealer is someone who lives in Sherbrooke. |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Midchuck Date: 16 Oct 06 - 10:41 AM If it's near Montreal...I'm in US but only 3 hours from Montreal, even if I don't speed too badly. Would you let "southerners" in? If we're not out west then? Peter. |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Sandy Mc Lean Date: 16 Oct 06 - 10:18 AM Canada is so large and it seems a long way from Cape Breton to anywhere else, but I'd love to meet some of you cats someday. Sandy |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Big Mick Date: 16 Oct 06 - 10:08 AM An added plus to going to Ormstown is that you would meet and hear Bill Garret and Sue Lothrop. These two are accomplished performers and great folks. It's a win for all concerned. Hell, I might even try and make this one. Hope you can pull it together. Mick |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 16 Oct 06 - 09:57 AM Cannot take the time right now-- health, work, commitments. Plus the Getaway people would hunt me down like a dog if I came up there first-- I haven't been able to be lured there, yet, and they're really out to get me. ~S~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 16 Oct 06 - 09:42 AM Wish I could! Thanks for the welcoming heart, though. We already had our first snow, in N Central PA's highlands-- so you better hurry! ~S~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Raptor Date: 16 Oct 06 - 09:39 AM I think we should meet before the snow flies and bounds us to our own counties! Raptor Rapaire and Susan are welcome! |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Peace Date: 16 Oct 06 - 09:33 AM I gave up on church, so forget the alter ego. |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: bobad Date: 16 Oct 06 - 09:32 AM You were already included in the four but if you bring your alter ego along that makes five. |

Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: bobad Date: 16 Oct 06 - 09:23 AM May I suggest getting together at the Ormstown Branches and Roots Festival . This is a low key and friendly festival which is organized by Mudcat Beer and is held at the end of July in a small town situated 45 minutes out of Montreal. There is free camping and toilet and shower facilities available. So far four Mudcatters, that I know of, have expressed their intention of attending next July. |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: wysiwyg Date: 16 Oct 06 - 09:19 AM I wish I could come to Canadia, too! ~S~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Time for a Canadian Mudcat Meet From: Rapparee Date: 16 Oct 06 - 09:14 AM Could you have it in Sascat...Sasketc...Manitoba? I've never been to Manitoba. If you have it in, oh, Alberta or BC I might be able to make it, if you'll let me in. Canadians are welcome at my place. I'm not prejudiced against Canadians or, as we call them in Pocatello, "folks from Northern Idaho." |
