Thought that I'd refresh this, periodically.... The photos and profiles are such a treat... even more so, with Mudchat.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of you send them to Jeff... a pre-New Year's Eve resolution...

I see we can post pics of our furry four-legged or feathered family members, as well. CatPhiddle's "Merlin The Mognificent" looks soooo much like my dear recently departed Melanie LaMew it's uncanny!

Great to see the new profiles and new photos (folks who weren't pictured before, and new pics of folks who were)!

Jerry, you're probably right. Leadfingers's stovepipe hat is probably much like the 'feathers' that appear to be sticking out of my head in the photo of me at The Cloisters Of La Jolla. (There was a large plant a few feet behind me, but it looks like part of my hairdo!)

Jude, there is at least one photo of Jeff in the Gatherings section, in a group. But, yeah, Jeff, how 'bout a profile for you, too?

Genie's right, Dave: Just click on the quick links box in the upper right hand corner, click on Photos & Info, when the screen opens, click on the blue clicky in the text and it will open up a box to send an e-mail to Jeff@mudcat. Type in your profile, and he will replace or insert it into the listing. It's easy... if I can do it, anyone can...

Keep 'em coming... I keep checking and am always pleased to see new photos. I think that Leadfinger's hat is an optical conclusion..

Socorro, I just did a monkey-see-monkey-do thing re my profile, i.e., just looked at a few other Catters' profiles and used them as a model for what kind of info to include and how to arrange it. I made it short, for now, figuring I can add or edit it later if I think of a better blurb.

GUEST is a sort of collective persona, and people who choose to post as GUEST without any kind of handle are surely abdicating their individuality, and being absorbed into the collective. A bit like the Borg. "Resistance is futile" as they always say, just before exploding in a shower of fireworks.

Females can be fellas, I'm sure. I couldn't see anything in the dictionary definition I just checked (using the posh spelling as "fellow") that required you have to be male to merit the term.

Steve and Leadfingers,
go to the
Profiles and Photos page, and it'll give you an email address for Banjer, who will digitize photos for you and send those files to Jeff (Pene Azul).

I see Jeff has added some new photos and profiles, including mine. Thanks ever so much, Jeff. You're a treasure.

"...I don't imagine we'll be seeing a picture of that fella GUEST who keeps on cropping up..."

Hmmmm. I'm not sure that's always the same "GUEST" or that it's always a "fella." There was one "GUEST" post recently, with the same caustic tone characteristic of "that GUEST," which said something about "my husband" or something like that.

Hi, Lead: You're right. Jeff does all the work as his gift to Mudcat, and we can never be reminded of that, too much. I only figured out how to send photos a month ago when my oldest son stopped by the house and figured out how to do it. I'm glad you've submitted a profile, though. Now that I am in computer kindergarten and can e-mail photos, if you want to go through the nuisance of sending me a photo you can spare, I'd be glad to e-mail it to Jeff. You can PM me, if you're interested...

I'm not going to carp about 'Ive sent my profile and it aint there yet' cos I realise that people have lives outside of mudcat(Do I really believe that?).I would like to have an idea of who I'm in contact with on the chat, and would quite cheerfully put a photo in if I wasn't computer illiterate and had no idea how to send photos. So I
would like you all to give the poor people who'do' it lots of work and then I will knpw exactly who I've been meeting. Ta. TLS

I'm still getting people straightened out in my mind... knowing more about where you're from, what instruments you play (if you do)and the kind of songs you enjoy singing pump a little cyber blood into your veins.

Thanks for those who sent in their photos.... a real pleasure to see what you look like.

Mrs Lemon - I find that part of the fun of the Photos pages is to re-visit them at intervals and find out just who I have got to know better - whether through the Mudchat or Paltalk or just corresponding within obscure threads.
I often find that I recognise the photo as one I have previously looked at, but at the time I didn't know the person in the same way, so viewing the photo hadn't previously had any particular meaning or purpose other than my own curiousity.
I would personally find an asterisk at the side of every picture I have viewed to be intrusive and counter productive.
Quack!

Well, I've had a photo in the Photos section for a while now, but a few days ago I finally broke down and sent in some info for the Profiles section, with a couple of other pics.

I'd imagine it may take a bit of time for Jeff to get new stuff formatted and posted, as that can be time consuming, and sometimes folks have other things to do besides tending to Mudcat business (e.g., work, spend time with family, etc.).

art, I don't think the membership info we send in is ever posted in the Profiles section unless we specifically authorize that -- which is, I think, the way it should be. In other words, when we join Mudcat, we don't have to reveal our real identities to the Mudcat membership unless we choose to.

But I like that asterisk idea, Mrs. Lemon -- or maybe put a "date posted" after each person's name in the Profiles section.

Who is "53"

Bob and I both use this as our Mudcat byline. I try to include a g or my full name when I write. We live in South Carolina near Myrtle Beach. Perhaps we should put up our photos too? I don't know.

The 53 started as a nickname Bob gave me almost 20 years ago because I was born in 1953... Long story. Bob and I sorta bumped into each other again in 1998, and - single again - we renewed our friendship and have married.

I work as an administrative specialist in a cooperative extension office. Bob is a "retired" rhythm guitarist on disability who does some guitar lessons when he can. I was a good student for a long time but have not been playing any lately. Shame on me.

Now c/mon, Art... ye of little faith. It only took Jeff about three days to get my photo and profile up and running.. I'm assuming you sent your photo to him. I'm going to keep an eye out for it now that you mentioned it, since I've talked with you several times in the MudChat.

If anyone else submits their photo and/or profile to Jeff, why not mention it in this thread, so Mrs. Lemon doesn't have to waste all that time looking at old mugs? :-)

Well, my membership information has been in there for nearly 2 years, but I still don't appear in any of the alpha- or geographical lists, I have no profile and, although I sent a photo several days ago, I have no real hope of seeing it short of the Second (or First, depending upon your point of view) Coming.

I'd like a small amendment to the photos list:

Would it be possible to have a little star by any new ones that get put up? I go down the list a lot, but then I forget who I've looked at, and have to wait ages for them to appear and find I've already seen 'em. Not that you're all very interesting to look at but...um...well you know what I mean!

Hello, Aussiebloke: Glad you took my typographic error in good humor. As you might imagine, my last name gets misspelled in endless variations. One of the most imaginative that I get is Rasmuffin. Now, I suppose that if the R was left off, I might have a more serious problem with it. I'm going to be especially careful in typing your name in the future.

Are you in the profile and photo section? That was my purpose for starting this thread... not to come up with a comical misspelling of your name... although everyone has had fun with it..

Yep, definitely aussiebloke. Not ozziebloke, and certainly not ockerbloke.

I'm fairly lean, so assiebloke doesn't work, and I'm not that lucky, so arsiebloke doesn't fit either.
