Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS Date: 19 Dec 08 - 05:11 PM Well there I was again! I can still remember that line dance routine, we spent most of a day learning it. I've got to be honest I didn't have a clue what Gavin and Stacey was about when I did the filming but have watched both series on the i player since. I think it's hilarious. |

Lorna & Pete Davies on accordian & guitar (he built it himself - a Selmer copy), Heulwen (sorry, don't know here surname) on fiddle, and Phil Thomas on bass. Dr Who eh? You can see the building where I work on the Bay shots in Torchwood though. Jamie & Grainne Smith from the band Mabon used to be occasional extras on Dr Who. |

Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS Date: 07 Apr 08 - 03:41 PM The band is from Cardiff, not my band. I was asked to do it because I've done a bit of acting before like. And yes Jane they were copying me. Some of them had two left feet. We were taught by a line dancing expert! |
Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: Mrs.Duck Date: 07 Apr 08 - 01:08 PM Glad to see you were at the front, Patti. Were they all copying you? Showed selected clips to the twins and Molly said 'oh she's the lady with the spoons and the man with the trifle!!' Maybe we could get Ned on Doctor Who, I'm sure chocolate trifle would bugger up the daleks stalks! Who needs a sonic screwdriver. |

Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: Splott Man Date: 04 Apr 08 - 11:05 AM To get back to the point of this thread for a minute... It's definitely on this Sunday on BBC3 at 9pm. Repeated on Monday on BBC3 at 10.30pm. Or you can watch it on your puter with the BBC i player. |
Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: GUEST,Dr Price Date: 04 Apr 08 - 11:05 AM Too right, Scooby. The best action you can take with a troll is to squash it underfoot. Sorry to be late on Baaaarrry accents, but here's a local accent which is even more idiosyncratic than Barry: The Port Talbot accent. Lord Heycock, the Labour peer and chairman of the county education committee (!) lived in a bungalow in Taibach, Port Talbot. At the opening of a new school, he is reported to have said: "Sorry that the haarr-ti-tect cannot be yer, but 'e have broken 'is haarm." There's an apochryphal story about a Jehovah's witness knocking on Lord Heycock's door, which was opened by Lady Heycock. JW: "Is the Lord in the house?" Lady Heycock: " 'Ang on a minute, luv, 'e's on the lav." |

Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: Mick Tems Date: 04 Apr 08 - 06:44 AM Dear "Friend Of Pattie's": What a cowardly, underhanded way to mask your true identity! At least I had the courage to publish my name to remind the Sidmouth crowd that I was there. |
Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: Herga Kitty Date: 03 Apr 08 - 05:32 PM I remember the sponsored strip(including the priceless label). You were sitting just inside the door of the public bar. Was that the night Bob Copper forgot the words to the Innocent Hare during the silent singaround? Kitty |
Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS Date: 03 Apr 08 - 05:27 PM Yes I did a strip for Taffy. I sat in the Dove for about half an hour with 8 layers of clothes on, each labelled with a price. I was boiling! The idea was the money had to be collected before I took off an item of clothing and the price went up the more I took off. I eventually got down to my bikini, the top was labelled £200 which had to be collected in cash and of course no-one had that amount on them Phew!, the bottoms were labelled 'Priceless'. Then Bob Copper offered to pay me to put them all back on! |
Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: Herga Kitty Date: 03 Apr 08 - 02:59 PM I remember Pattie flashing in the Dove! (Must have done it quietly though). Wasn't that the Taffaid year? Kitty |

Subject: RE: Dame Pattie Smith EPNS on the telly From: Mick Tems Date: 03 Apr 08 - 02:08 PM Sorry to put the record straight on Pat's electric Sidmouth spoons - but it was MY idea, and I was in the car park with Jon! I got the flash of inspiration years ago, before I met Pat - an one-off TV late-night programme called Six and Seven-Eighths, consisting of some very weird sketches. One was The Electric Martian, showing a guy in a space suit, covered in lights and playing spoons. The spoons made contact and the lights flashed! That memory will stay with me always... Mick Tems |
