Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Ron Davies Date: 15 Sep 11 - 09:04 PM "assured an Obama victory" . Dream on. The only thing that killed McCain was his deer in the headlights/ headless chicken approach to the financial crisis. Bringing her on brought the passion McCain sorely needed--though he needed it at the top of the ticket. Ask yourself where the passion was in the 2008 general election. As for Sarah: only real point to make of this is that, as the country song says: "It Makes No Difference Now" since she is, as I noted ,"Yesterday's Girl" (Hank Snow, I think. Whether she did coke or slept around is at this point just a meaningless trivia question. I suspect the book will be a flop. At this point, who cares? And for the reason I cited: Rick Perry has used up all her oxygen. She waited too long. I read something that put it quite well: 2011: she strings it out as to whether she will run. 2012: she strings it out as to when she endorses Perry. She will have no other choice. Now she's just another rich celebrity. She may have some influence with her would-be supporters in influencing their choice. But she can never be that choice. And she will eventually have to support Perry. Only question is when. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Bobert Date: 15 Sep 11 - 08:21 PM Me thinks that Ms. Sarah needs another few night with the basketball player... And more pot!!! BTW, loved Brucie's observation that a lobotomy would improve Ms. Sarah's IQ... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Big Al Whittle Date: 15 Sep 11 - 08:04 PM ' I was horrified when she was named vp candidate but glad because I knew it assured an Obama victory.' Maybe, but if the photos of Obama in bed with a choirboy had turned up, and then McCain caught a bullet - she might have been president. Playing with fire......I think you did it when you elected Reagan and he was obviously too old, you'll do it once too often. |

Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: gnu Date: 15 Sep 11 - 06:22 PM Soooo... if he prints sommat that ain't true and gets sued he can pay the damages because he got paid off big time by whoever? I don't buy that for a minute. Go try to sell that story to the National Enquirer. I bet they won't print it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: GUEST,Emjay -- lost my cookie Date: 15 Sep 11 - 05:46 PM I was talking to a friend of my niece -- and said something about the reliability of anything in the enquirer. He laughed and said, "That piece was well documented -- and I got paid a lot of money for it." I have no idea what piece he wrote (He's the editor of a weekly paper in Anchorage) or if he wrote about affairs and cocaine use. The book by Joe McGinnis isn't due to be released until Sept. 20. I've also talked to him and read most everything he has written and find it well-documented. I know many people he talked to about Ms. Palin, and they are people who knew her and would have been truthful. When a story about Sarah Palin's alleged infidelities came out a few years ago, it was laughed at, especially by those who knew the alleged partner. I didn't vote for her as governor. She defeated a good, well-qualified former governor. I was horrified when she was named vp candidate but glad because I knew it assured an Obama victory. Martie -- I live in Palmer, not Wasilla. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: GUEST,MarkS(on the road) Date: 15 Sep 11 - 05:37 PM Sarah Palin is this year a political non-entity. Expect her exposure and influence to decline in step with rise in certainty about whomever will be the next Republican nominee. Expect this current book about Palin to be shortly as germaine as the book by whatshisname last Spring about Obamas' birth certificate! Like the birth certificate issue, seems to me that Sarah Palins' celebrity has been "overtaken by events!" Mark (Who is still waiting for his own 15 minutes of fame!) |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Wesley S Date: 15 Sep 11 - 05:26 PM "But, if that is the case, is the writer liable for libel in a court of law? That is my point. This guy would not have written it if he couldn't prove it." That's what tabloids count on is people thinking that way - it makes them rich. Very few people in the public eye want to go into a court of law and sue. Because then you set yourself up to be crossexamined in open court. A lawyer can go where ever they want to looking for dirt. Better to just ignore it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: gnu Date: 15 Sep 11 - 04:33 PM Q... "And most of it is unprovable (he said, she denied)." But, if that is the case, is the writer liable for libel in a court of law? That is my point. This guy would not have written it if he couldn't prove it. However, as I stated above, I don't give two shits from Tuesday if she snorted cocaine or fuck her brains out with some basketball player. All I care about is that some brain dead twit actually was BROUGHT IN, ran for VP and might run for P... and that she got some votes!!! The National Enquirer had NOTHING to do with book except to boost it's sales so it's not even in the discussion as far as I am concerned. The discussion shouldn't even be about whatever she or her husband or her family did in the past... it should be about the fact that she as stunned as me arse. Although, I must say again, I like 9's take on her getting "what comes around". |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Wesley S Date: 15 Sep 11 - 04:25 PM And look how innaccurate that story was - we all know now that it was actually Carol Channings daughter. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: pdq Date: 15 Sep 11 - 04:07 PM For those who don't know about the Enquirer, it once ran the headline "Carol Burnett's daughter gives birth to two-headed cow!". Real reliable news source, eh? |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 15 Sep 11 - 03:40 PM The book has all the usual old garbage that can be dredged up about most people. And most of it is unprovable (he said, she denied). I don't hold any brief for Palin, she would be a useless leader, but muckraker book plus Enquirer = 0. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: GUEST,Ebbie Date: 15 Sep 11 - 03:24 PM There haven't been all that many- although if you include governors from before Alaskan statehood the numbers are substantial. Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Jim Dixon Date: 15 Sep 11 - 02:19 PM Most of us would never have heard of Sarah Palin if John McCain hadn't chosen her as his running mate. What the hell was HE snorting? I think she deserves to go back into the obscurity of being just another ex-governor of Alaska. How many others can you name? |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Donuel Date: 15 Sep 11 - 01:57 PM A real news story would be about someone who never tried marching powder in the 80's Being a political shill for corporations requires a high degree of ignorance and naievete' Being a think tank shill for corporations requires the opposite. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: gnu Date: 15 Sep 11 - 01:56 PM Then you're approaching the reliability of items in the National Enquirer." That's got nothing to do with the book that was wriiten. Buddy would not have written the book if he couldn't prove everything. I don't give a rat's ass what she did... it's the person she is NOW that counts in my books. And, I think she's as stunned as me arse. BTW... right on 9! |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: lefthanded guitar Date: 15 Sep 11 - 01:46 PM Politicians have been elected despite these allegations- Bush Jr was reported to be a drunk and cocaine user; Newt served his wife divorce papers after her cancer operation. Some get elected, some get the boot. It's an odd conundrum; Weiner got himself tossed out of office (and has served up his district with a Republican as a result) for far lesser crimes-poor b(****d didn't even get laid. I can't always make sense of what the public lauds and/or forgives. But the two things that scare me about Sarah, besides her extremist right wing politics, is how she just quit the governorship without any reason and no one really seems to take her to task for it. And most importantly, how very unlearned and ignorant she is; tho her fans seem to accept it, as if being shrewd is a subsitute for intelligence. It's been quite a while since we elected politicians because we knew that intellectually, they were BETTER than the average joe, so that we had thoughtful statespeople like Roosevelt, JFK, heck even Eisenhower had a well thought message compared to brickbrains like Palin. Would be nice if politics and politicians stopped being just another reality show. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Joe Offer Date: 15 Sep 11 - 12:57 PM Doonesbury is having some fun with Sarah this month.... |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: GUEST,999 Date: 15 Sep 11 - 12:57 PM This has nothing to do with her morals, Ake. It has to do with the shit she's been slinging against anyone who isn't a right-wing republican. A lobotomy would improve her intelligence. I never have had any use for Slick Willy or JFK for that matter. So put away your political agenda and look at the person. That bitch has implied all kinds of stuff--unfounded--about Obama, and she's got away with it. Finally, she has some of it in her own lap. It's about time, and I don't care what political party she's with. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Wesley S Date: 15 Sep 11 - 12:51 PM Her stand on the issues is scary enough. Why do we need to gossip about her? She had a one night stand before she was married? Who gives a flip? |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Mrrzy Date: 15 Sep 11 - 12:46 PM Heh heh heh I can just see her pointy little nose sniffing that lovely powder heh heh heh AND she's skinny, maybe she's still a fiend? heh heh heh |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: frogprince Date: 15 Sep 11 - 12:24 PM Sorry, but; as one who cringes in horror at the thought of Palin in any position of national influence, let alone the presidency, I wouldn't give a moment's creedance to these "revelations" without confirmation from far different sources. Taking "facts" from the National Inquirer is like imagining you can read facts from the stains on used toilet paper. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Rapparee Date: 15 Sep 11 - 10:13 AM She never inhaled, even though she was in graduate school. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Ron Davies Date: 15 Sep 11 - 09:35 AM Take the Sun. Multiply by 10 (at least). Then you're approaching the reliability of items in the National Enquirer. This may help sell books. It will do nothing else. What's more, it's yesterday's news in the extreme, since Sarah is yesterday's girl. She was too clever by half. Thought she could wait til Labor Day to announce. Now Perry has used up all her oxygen. Translation of this for UK readers available on request if needed, but it should be clear enough. |
Subject: RE: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: akenaton Date: 15 Sep 11 - 09:29 AM "Let he who is without sin" etc etc. I suppose it must be hard to emmulate the Democrat "saints",JFK and Slack Willie. Scotlands National Poet said it better than any. " Then gently scan your brother man, Still gentler sister woman ; Tho' they may gang a kennin wrang, To step aside is human : One point must still be greatly dark, The moving why they do it ; And just as lamely can ye mark How far perhaps they rue it. 8. Who made the heart, 'tis He alone Decidedly can try us : He knows each chord, its various tone, Each spring, its various bias : Then at the balance let's be mute, We never can adjust it ; What's done we partly may compute, But know not what's resisted" Robert Burns....."Address to the Unca Guid." |

Subject: BS: Sarah Palin (all around my brain..) From: Big Al Whittle Date: 15 Sep 11 - 08:19 AM Probably old news to people in the USA, but to us it explains much. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/palin-took-cocaine-cheated-husband-094300647.html Sad with politicians isn't it.... I was sorry when Gary Hart got outed, he seemed quite nice. |
