Subject: RE: BS: Your First Posting Here - Do You Recall? From: Matt_R Date: 21 Oct 00 - 06:16 PM I came looking for the lyrics to "Is Ar Eireann Ni Neosfain Ce Hi", which I had just heard Dervish sing on The Thistle & Shamrock. PJ Swan got them to me within the hour...I knew I'd stay. --Matt |
Subject: RE: BS: Your First Posting Here - Do You Recall? From: DougR Date: 21 Oct 00 - 05:55 PM My first request (probably around May or June, 1999, was for the lyrics to a Scottish song, "Think On Me." No one knew the song, except someone named Mary Jane who recognized it as a song on a CD titled "The Hills Of Lorne." I ordered the CD, then later found the name fo the publisher and ordered the sheet music. DougR |
Subject: RE: BS: Your First Posting Here - Do You Recall? From: GUEST,Mark Cohen who should be working Date: 21 Oct 00 - 05:41 PM Oh, yes, I asked for the words and singer of a version of "Dog and Gun" that is different from the one in the DT. I recorded it from the radio in 1982 or so, and lost the tape. I'd written a new last verse, that tied up some loose ends. I did get some interest in the "epilog" idea on a much later thread, but never found out anything about the song. That's OK, though, I still love you guys. My next attempt not only identified the song I wanted (Ian Campbell's "Apprentice Song") but in true Mudcat tradition sparked an amazing discussion of British hand tools. Aloha, Mark |

From: Little Neophyte Date: 21 Oct 00 - 05:33 PM I can not remember what my first posting was exactly but I distinctly remember Big Mick thinking I was some kind of UFO that had landed on the Mudcat Forum and he was just about ready to call in the CIA to investigate when I explained to him I am just a new member. Subject: Your First Posting Here - Do You Recall? From: Mrrzy Date: 21 Oct 00 - 03:07 PM I was just trying to figure out what the first thing I asked the Mudcat was (I think I remember but I can't find the thread I remember starting...) - so, no fair looking it up, what do you remember about your First? I think mine was for the rest of the words to I had a little nut tree, and (if I remember correctly) it wasn't answered. So part II is, was your question answered to your satisfaction? Just curious! |
