Ouch! I can also attest to the Light of Mudcat keeping yer spirits up and helping you through such things. Tis no small thing having them much about in yer heart, but I am sure you will be fine. Just wish you didn't have to have all of the attendant bruising, etc.! luvyakat |

Subject: RE: BS: Liz the Squeak's unashamed sympathy bid From: Liz the Squeak Date: 08 Jan 05 - 06:52 PM Ah waltz.. mine does that .... usually just before it goes into a polka and then straight down to the shuffle round the handbags at the end of the evening with your hand on someone's ass and trying to remember if you put your pulling pants on. Thank you everyone. The day is looming closer and I think the technical term is 'bricking it'... I'm not looking forward to this at all, because this time I know what is coming. LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Liz the Squeak's unashamed sympathy bid From: Polly Squeezebox Date: 08 Jan 05 - 05:51 PM I had to undergo surgery last year and my surgeon asked me out of the blue if I was a musician - it seems my heart beats in waltz time! So I guess I'll get Bubba (ask Col or Micca about my beasty dog) to dance with me on Monday and run off any random smoky thoughts. Subject: RE: BS: Liz the Squeak's unashamed sympathy bid From: Tannywheeler Date: 07 Jan 05 - 03:59 PM Oh, boy -- I want Teresa to teach me how to hug like that. You were making a joke, right? Compost/compos? I have often noted how mentally competent most of the folks who post on MudCat are. It's difficult to believe that such an obviously good heart can have something out of kilter. About 30 yrs ago hubby was injured in a church league softball game. Turned out his broken rib had punctured his spleen and he bled (an internal slow leak) all night. He was in a bad way. Off to the emergency room, an emergency laparotomy, serious repair/spleen removal, stitch-up. He'd lost about 4fifths of his blood! and almost died. When he came home after a week recuperating in the hospital, folks at church brought all sorts of casseroles, etc.-- including one woman's famous, much-loved spaghetti sauce and a bottle of red wine. I called the surgeon to see if it was safe to let Hubby drink the wine ('cuz he was taking various meds). The surgeon was emphatic with his YES -- but I had to get lots of cheese into Hubby, as well. Seems some chemical interaction with the wine&cheese would BUILD his blood. Use it if it helps. Tw |

Subject: RE: BS: Liz the Squeak's unashamed sympathy bid From: Hollowfox Date: 07 Jan 05 - 01:46 PM Liz, they say that powder helps ("If I could walk like that, I wouldn't need the powder!")(ancient and venerable jokes explained to whippersnappers upon request). Thanks to transatlantic time differences, I may have your !@#$-reduction candle ifred up and running while you're in the shop (before work for me). And I'm sure to have the post-op one glowing gently for you at your bedtime. So, {{{hug}}} {{{Meep}}} That's from one of my cats. Odin's a Weismuller cat; big solid frame and a light tenor voice. He really relates to your name. (I had a girlfriend who emigrated tfrom Italy to the USA after World War II. She got the biggest surprise when she saw a Johnny Weismuller Tarzan movie. Apparently when they dubbed the films into Italian, they used an actor with a much deeper voice.) |

Subject: RE: BS: Liz the Squeak's unashamed sympathy bid From: Liz the Squeak Date: 07 Jan 05 - 03:21 AM Well I'm glad I'm reading this now, before any major vessels get punctured! Thanks all of you... it's a great feeling, knowing you're all out there thinking of what's happening to this mad woman most of you have never met..... Seamus....... bearing in mind a) that this is a family site; b) where the incisions are going to be; and c) the size of my fat arse (old joke) .... pictures of the stitches will be by private viewing and appointment only! To put the record straight, I was diagnosed long before Tony Bleugh had his little episode - he got diagnosed, admitted and treated in 9 hours what took me 9 months to get discovered, let alone diagnosed! And he says he had it done on the NHS...... yeah, not in MY borough! It may be dicky, irregular and possibly worn out, but it is very full... thank you. LTS XX |

Subject: RE: BS: Liz the Squeak's unashamed sympathy bid From: Rapparee Date: 06 Jan 05 - 10:04 PM Hey! Don't just lay about in that hospital now. Under the new rules of the NHS, if you spend more than 12 hours in hospital you have to help give enemas and/or empty the bedpans. So git done and git out! We'll be waiting on the outside. |
