Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Andy Jackson Date: 08 Mar 06 - 10:30 AM Well I've been back to 2003 and ALL the sound bites on Miskin site have the WMA extension. They play fine in Windows Media Player and Real Time. I would have thought that if you are used to using non windows O.S. then you will have found a way of opening these files on your system. The three Tarrantella clips are suffering from "missing link syndrome" they will be back d'reklee. If there is a link to someone elses site then obviously I have no control over the format used therein. Best come to Miskin and hear the real thing anyway. Andy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Fidjit Date: 08 Mar 06 - 09:56 AM So where are all these new media player clips then Andy. The ones that came up were in winamp (thought winamp was mp3) The ones that didn't come up were the three on Taranttella. What am I missing? And we are really looking forward to joining in with all the fun of the Miskin Fair. Can't wait. Coming early, leaving late. |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: treewind Date: 08 Mar 06 - 06:57 AM I didn't try any of the sound bites, but if they're Windows WMA they'll only work on Windows. MP3 is a much more universal though it's still somewhat proprietary, and Ogg Vorbis, though less well known, is the really free alternative. (but many media players support it) Anahata |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: My guru always said Date: 08 Mar 06 - 04:45 AM Sounds lovely Andy, listening now on Windows Media Player - came up no problem. Lovely memories of Miskin Cottage, roll on Easter!!! |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Andy Jackson Date: 08 Mar 06 - 03:28 AM Lynne: the sound bites are in windows wma format and ought to just work!!! I've checked them all on Jillies puter. Anyone else: are there others who can't hear sound? Do let me know, especially if you know the answer!!!! Just so we all look at the same place, one of the recent files is at the bottom of Chris Kings page "Where do you Lie" Any comments about missing links are always useful, the site has grown so much over the years it is difficult to check every page. Thanks, Andy |
Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: MBSLynne Date: 08 Mar 06 - 02:33 AM Can't read the sound bites Andy, I'm afraid. All I get is a page full of nonsense and no sound Love Lynne |

Subject: RE: Miskin at Easter 2006 From: Morticia Date: 07 Mar 06 - 02:57 AM it isn't really 'polite' to hijack someone elses thread, clothes seller type people.......a new thread asking for what you need would probably have been more appropriate.......that is why Miskin Man was perplexed. |

Looking out the window at what it's doing now camping doesn't appeal even slightly. Bookies are still offering 16/1 against a white Easter !!! Got the weather ordered Andy ? Warm and balmy will do nicely :) Chris |
