We should be arriving sometime around mid-day Friday. We're stopping over night on the way down at Cirencester on Thursday night. First time with a caravan on tow, and first time at Miskin too. It'll be good to see some old friends, and hopefully to make some new ones too.

Have finally got caravan arrangements sorted between the weekend before & Miskin opening time - Hurrah!

Now to get the raffle organised, I might find some chocolate to put in along with a Huge folksong book, barely thumbed as I don't do dots!

Keep those prizes coming - especially the chocolate ones!!

Well I've been back to 2003 and ALL the sound bites on Miskin site have the WMA extension. They play fine in Windows Media Player and Real Time. I would have thought that if you are used to using non windows O.S. then you will have found a way of opening these files on your system.

The three Tarrantella clips are suffering from "missing link syndrome" they will be back d'reklee.
If there is a link to someone elses site then obviously I have no control over the format used therein.

Best come to Miskin and hear the real thing anyway.

Andy

So where are all these new media player clips then Andy. The ones that came up were in winamp (thought winamp was mp3) The ones that didn't come up were the three on Taranttella. What am I missing? And we are really looking forward to joining in with all the fun of the Miskin Fair. Can't wait. Coming early, leaving late.

I didn't try any of the sound bites, but if they're Windows WMA they'll only work on Windows.

MP3 is a much more universal though it's still somewhat proprietary, and
Ogg Vorbis, though less well known, is the really free alternative. (but many media players support it)

Lynne: the sound bites are in windows wma format and ought to just work!!! I've checked them all on Jillies puter.

Anyone else: are there others who can't hear sound? Do let me know, especially if you know the answer!!!!
Just so we all look at the same place, one of the recent files is at the bottom of Chris Kings page "Where do you Lie"
Any comments about missing links are always useful, the site has grown so much over the years it is difficult to check every page.
Thanks,
Andy

it isn't really 'polite' to hijack someone elses thread, clothes seller type people.......a new thread asking for what you need would probably have been more appropriate.......that is why Miskin Man was perplexed.

Has everyone heard the clip Where do you lie? on Chris's bit of the miskin site. Just proves that our cottage was designed for singing!!

We should be grateful that Easter is a bit later this year, it was in March last year if I remember and weather wasn't too bad. Looking out the window at what it's doing now camping doesn't appeal even slightly. Bookies are still offering 16/1 against a white Easter !!!

Got the weather ordered Andy ? Warm and balmy will do nicely :)

Now after that.

If you see someone hanging from the gallows tree as you enter Miskin, then it's probably me.
