Subject: LYR ADD: Beautiful Door - Billy Bob Thornton From: katlaughing Date: 31 Jul 07 - 11:34 AM BEAUTIFUL DOOR Billy Bob Thornton - B. Davis Maybe I'm crazy Maybe I'm blind 'Cause I can't understand The kind of mind That kills for God Or money or the land It just seems odd To take that kind of stand Some on the East side Some on the West Who think that somehow Their way is best But there are some There in the middle Whose lives have come To mean so little Chorus: You can preach all you want to And make up forever more I know you want to walk into Another world But I don't see no beautiful door I can't help myself I like this place And leaving's not a thing I want to face But those who wanna go Knock yourselves out Just don't take those who don't care about Your power dreams And your golden gates 'Cause I hear their screams As you deal their fates You'll never kill this world But I am afraid That you'll take away Those you say God made |

Subject: Billy Bob Thornton - new CD From: katlaughing Date: 30 Jul 07 - 11:15 PM I'd never heard anything about Billy Bob Thornton, the actor, also being a singer/songwriter until we listened to an interview on NPR. They classify as "pop" but he tells some great stories and some have a kind of old-time western sound to them and he sings about some social issues esp. in "Pretty People" and, his own Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in "Always Countin'." There's also some very nice guitar parts and some great harmony. "I Can Tell You" even sounds a bit like the Beatles. Billy Bob's voice reminds me a little of Dave Carter and a few others. He's got a nice deep richness in it. All in all, I would be glad to recommend this album. |
