I think the person to contact about recordings of Ian would be Kenny Caird (who you know) . He has been talking recently about similar ideas.

I see Kenny most weeks, but strangely do not have a current email address for him. However, I can PM him at firstfoot, and get his attention.

I saw + met Ian many years ago at the Edinburgh FF, he was a true gentleman I became a sort of groupie in Edinburgh + we drove around to his gigs together me (from Bournemouth navigating around Edinburgh???)One night we had Derick Moffat ex McCalmans (another greatly missed character) drunk as a nute in the back of Ians car with 2 young ladies, those who knew Derrick will not need telling the rest of the story.I am sad to hear on Ians death as he was a superb entertainer + a lovely man

It was two years last Friday since Iain died. I still miss his singing and his humour. I've got all his recordings but am trying to get as many as possible of his unrecorded songs together, particularly of the period before 1987. If anybody has any tapes, videos, bootlegs and wouldn't mind sharing them, please contact me at skw at freenet dot de.

Also, there must be people out there who have stories to tell about Iain. Would be nice if a few found their way to this thread ...
