Subject: Pierpont Concert Series in Connecticut From: dwditty Date: 21 Oct 10 - 08:06 AM Connecticut's (and Mudcat's) own Shoregrass (Barbara and Frank Shaw, et al) kicks off the 2010-2011 Pierpont Concert Series on Saturday, October 30th at the North Haven Congregational Church (28 Church Street in, yes, North Haven, CT). All concerts begin at 7 PM. Tickets: $10 ($5 for students, under 12 - free) This season' line-up includes: October 30th: Shoregrass (Bluegrass, old timey, early country, folk, originals) December 11: Brass (5 piece Brass ensemble presenting a Holiday show) February 12: Washboard Slim & The Bluelights (Lively jug band covering early jazz, swing, blues, standards, pop, and more) May 21: The Jolly Beggers (6 man Celtic group presenting traditional jigs, reels, and more interspersed with stories from Irish folklore) CLICK HERE for a Series Program Flyer with concert details and bio's of all the performers.
