Subject: RE: BS: Have you seen Hot Fuzz?? From: Jack the Sailor Date: 07 Apr 12 - 12:10 AM I saw both yesterday. April 5 2012 They were easily the two funniest films I have seen in the past for or five years. Carol and I laughed out loud many times and had to rewind several times in each movie to repeat what we had missed while laughing. The movies could hardly have been more different but they had Coogan in common. , |
Subject: RE: BS: Have you seen Hot Fuzz?? From: Dave the Gnome Date: 06 Apr 12 - 06:18 PM Hot Fuzz is one of the funniest films ever. Bill Bailey's role is priceelss and anything will Bill Nighey in is worth seeing. Simon Pegg, as said before, is an absolute star, as is Martin Freeman. Cheers DtG. |
Subject: RE: BS: Have you seen Hot Fuzz?? From: gnu Date: 06 Apr 12 - 04:54 PM Can't speak for the Yanks, but it plays well in Canada and since a LARGE number of Yanks are only separated from us by a border, I expect the same. Love it... and Caine. |
Subject: RE: BS: Have you seen Hot Fuzz?? From: GUEST,Hookey Wole Date: 06 Apr 12 - 04:03 PM "The Trip" series is, if not a direct sequel, a sort of companion piece to the earlier movie " Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story (2005)". which polarised critics and viewers into 'love it or hate it' positions. Both need to be viewed in the context of Brit comedians Coogan & Brydon's long established high profile tabloid / paparazzi media personas. So it's interesting how well the humour carries to a USA audience ? |

Subject: RE: BS: Have you seen Hot Fuzz?? From: Jack the Sailor Date: 06 Apr 12 - 02:48 PM ""The Trip" movie is a cut down version of an entire UK TV series." a six episode series, I gathered from the DVD extras. |
Subject: RE: BS: Have you seen Hot Fuzz?? From: Becca72 Date: 06 Apr 12 - 02:39 PM Shaun of the Dead is a favorite of mine - now I'll definitely see this one! |
Subject: RE: BS: Have you seen Hot Fuzz?? From: Jack the Sailor Date: 06 Apr 12 - 02:01 PM It was one of the funniest movies for Pegg because he played is very straight throughout. He had almost no funny lines but his facial reactions were priceless. By the way, if you have not seen Hot Fuzz, the writing, especially the last half hour, lives up to the surreal standard set by Shaun of The Dead. |
Subject: RE: BS: Have you seen Hot Fuzz?? From: Becca72 Date: 06 Apr 12 - 09:00 AM I am a big fan of Simon Pegg but I haven't seen that one yet. I'll have to add it to the Netflix queue. |

Subject: RE: BS: Have you seen Hot Fuzz?? From: gnomad Date: 05 Apr 12 - 11:58 PM I enjoyed it when it came around on TV. Don't know how well the humour will cross the Atlantic, but good for those on the east side at least. IMDB Entry I hadn't heard of "The Trip". I generally prefer to hear Coogan, rather than watching him, but it looks like a possibility. |
