Subject: RE: Help: irish songs From: Martin _Ryan Date: 14 Oct 99 - 04:06 PM The second CD mentioned by Mian above is a joint effort, in English, by Padraigin and her husband Len Graham. It, too, is excellent. Regards |
Subject: RE: Help: irish songs From: blackcat Date: 14 Oct 99 - 03:46 PM The Clany Brother's are great for kids songs in so many ways. the aforementioned album is good but there's two others as well. Both are by the Clancy Brothers and their kids and nieces & nephews and stuff. Don't know the names off hand - I'm at work, their at home, but I think both are searchable through the "Clancy Children". Also the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem have a 75 song songbook that has many of the songs in it. |
Subject: RE: Help: irish songs From: SeanM Date: 14 Oct 99 - 03:35 PM There's also a Clancy Brother's CD (Live at Carnegie Hall) that includes the "Childrens' Medley"... It's a good 10-15 children's songs. M |
Subject: RE: Help: irish songs From: Mían Date: 14 Oct 99 - 03:13 PM If you are looking for songs in the Irish language, there is a truly excellent CD that has the music and written lyrics for several children's songs. It is called "A Stór 'is A Stóirín" by Pádraigín Ní Uallachain and Garry Ó Bríain. It also includes written lyrics and translations. There is also another CD which I have not heard, also by O Briain and Ni Uallachain, called "When I was Young - Children's Songs from Ireland." The publisher is Gael Linn. |
