Thanks, lots of choice there. Will hopefully get to some of them.I'm coming over to look after my elderly mother and give my brother and sister in law a break, which nights I can get out will depend on Mums condition and who else is free to sit with Mum

Chichester Folk Club every Tuesday at the Four Chestnuts. Music session 8-8.30 and singing after. As it is in Sussex isn't listed in Solent/Hampshire information but it is actually much nearer than Ringwood, Bournemouth or Wimborne. See http://www.chifolksongclub.co.uk/

Yes Ringwood Folk Club is really good ; one never knows quite what to expect ! I was there a few years back ,in the 90s , to see Martin Carthy ; despite extensive advertising , only about 8 people turned up !! MC Rod Bingham apologised profusely to Martin, who was completely unfazed , and we enjoyed a very close up and personal ( or so it felt ) evening.
On another evening we had Jeremy Taylor , and unbeknown to him , in the audience ,were several people from the village he used to live in in South Africa ! That made for an interesting evening,I can tell you .
And ; do not miss Forest Folk at Boarhunt , either !! You might get fish & chips if you're lucky !

Depending how far you're prepared to travel for an evening, I'm happy to recommend the Fo'c'sle (Portsdown, Southampton) on Fridays, ringwood
on Tuesdays, Fiveways (Bournemouth) on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month and Wimborne folk club at the British Legion in Wimborne on Thursdays...

Will be staying in Fareham, UK for about six weeks in mid feb / march, anyone have any suggestions about clubs or pub sessions in the area ? Smaller friendly places preferred to formal concerts as I am travelling on my own.
