Subject: RE: Obit: RIP Johnny Winter (1944-2014) From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 18 Jul 14 - 08:18 PM I saw Johnny three times in the late '60s and early '70s, including at the 2nd Atlanta Pop Festival in 1970, which was attended by an estimated 400,000 people. I was no more than 50 feet from the stage during Johnny's set. He later came back onstage and jammed with The Allman Brothers Band during their closing set. |

Running all around, knocking mic stands over.Dressed in black, long white hair flyin' all over. A buddy of mine sold him a Gibson Firebird that day. Hot Tuna followed, Van Morrison closed. A fine fest indeed. Rock in Peace, JW |

Even if you didn't like the Blues, you'd have to perk up and have your ear caught, and then you'd listen closer. See ya' Johnny! GfS |
