Subject: Anderson, Napier, Fyfe SE Lndn 29 Nov From: GUEST,The Goose Is Out! Date: 19 Nov 19 - 02:20 AM Carol Anderson, Findlay Napier, Iona Fyfe: The Goose Is Out! The Ivy House 40 Stuart Road, London SE15 3BE. Friday 29th November 7pm. Tickets https://www.wegottickets.com/thegooseisout We are delighted to have three very different and all absolutely excellent Scottish singers and musicians headlining our Scottish Night. They are joint headliners, so we are putting them on here in alphabetical order. Carol Anderson will be well known to many of you as she is a Goose favourite and has appeared several times at both our concerts and club nights, both solo and with Stuart Forester and Hector Gilchrist. Originally from Aberdeenshire, Carol is now based in London (luckily for us!) She is a brilliant fiddler, has a keen interest in Scottish pipe music, Findlay Napier is one of the most highly-regarded performers and creative forces on the Scottish music scene – thoroughly active and a truly energised with a heart-warming zing. He made his name touring and recording with multi-award winning traditional Scottish folk band Back of the Moon. In his more recent projects “Queen Anne’s Revenge” and “The Bar Room Mountaineers” his song-writing took centre stage and was described by The Sunday Herald as “Genuine songcraft and wit following in the Difford & Tilbrook tradition”. Findlay is also well known as the host of Celtic Connections’ Late Night Sessions and for his Hazy Recollections concert series which showcases the very best in new roots music. Iona has become one of Scotland’s finest young ballad singers, rooted deeply in the singing traditions of the North East of Scotland. Winner of Scots Singer of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards 2018, Iona has been described as “one of the best Scotland has to offer.” Carol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAd6IPAzLnY Findlay https://youtu.be/IHgayQVDH18 Iona https://youtu.be/SM5m_ivKpXA |
