Subject: RE: Need Tab for Guy Clark Stuff From: Mudjack Date: 11 Jan 00 - 06:30 PM I regret I can't offer any help on your search, but this might help you figure out some of his songs. When I saw him in concert, I learned a nifty little variation to drop D tuning. Instead of dropping the low E to a D, He put a Shubb capo on the second fret covering only the five bottom strings and finger picked several tunes in that tuning. I guess that would be called a capo'd open E string tuning. I play around with it and find it a nice change and requires a minimal re-tuning effort. Mudjack |

Subject: RE: Need Tab for Guy Clark Stuff From: Picker Date: 11 Jan 00 - 08:21 AM Hey longhair, nice to meet you. I've got most of it figured out. I know it is capoed on the second fret but there are a few places I can't quite get down. I'm also wondering if there isn't a string tuned open like Guy does on so much of his stuff.Like you, I can't get enough of his work. I'm trying to find out if he is going to be at Merlefest this year but haven't been able to find that out yet either. Nice talking to you....Picker!! |
Subject: RE: Need Tab for Guy Clark Stuff From: longhair Date: 11 Jan 00 - 07:52 AM That's a good song Picker. I see you also noticed that it has the same tune a the Randall Knife song. I just can't get enough of Guy, he's a great writer,IMO. I can't help you though, as I just started working on it myself... |
Subject: Need Tab for Guy Clark Stuff From: Picker Date: 11 Jan 00 - 07:19 AM I havn't been to the Mudcat in a while but hello everyone. I'm looking for the Tab to some Guy Clark songs, inparticularly "LET HIM ROLL" which should be the same as "THE RANDALL KNIFE". Is Dark River still hanging out here? |
