i doubt it. here is the tune as RF sings it

i think it needs to go to this tune because the story is basically the same...young man dies of a lumbering accident. This is a true story. he died in 2014. I believe he dropped out of high school or college to help out his family but i am not sure. I somehow stumbled upon how Finns in Aberdeen Washington died in the early days. Big Logging area. They were hit by logs .

I'm not familiar with the tune you mentioned -- would it perhaps be the same as When the Works All Done this Fall (https://youtu.be/ADLhJ3GSgUo) which I felt the lyrics scanned to well

usually I don't impose songs on people but for some reason after corresponding with someone on Lewis County, WA songs..I feel this song needs to come out of hiding. here is what i wrote to her and it is sung to tune of Peter Emberley (how appropriate) as Ryan's Fancy sang it. Oh my goodness. I was at McDonald's, his name is Cole and that is the name of the line he died on in 2014.

it is so strange how this song came to me. i was at mcdonald's in long beach, on route to the train in kelso. someone left a paper behind and i asked if i could take it. on the train i read the story. it was very very recent. by the time i reached seattle i had the song and it went to the tune of peter amberly (there are at least two tunes for this but only one is the right one) about a young logger from Cape Breton. I recommend googling to see if Ryan's Fancy recorded it. Anyway, on my way to Folklife in seattle. went straight there. first place i went was to a logging songs workshop and i gave them the song. they knew the family.

peter ambelay (that is how they spelled it)

COLE BOSTWICK

MY NAME IS COLE BOSTWICK I AM 19 YEARS OLD
I WONT' BE GETTING OLDER SO MY STORY CAN BE TOLD
I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN KELSO AND DID ALL THAT I SHOULD
BUT YOU KNOW THAT THERE ARE DANGERS WHEN YOU WORK OUT IN THE WOODS

I WAS SETTING CHOKERS ON THE COLE MCDONALD ROAD
WHEN I MET A SKYLINE LOGGING CARRIAGE LOWERING ITS LOAD
COME ALL YOU BRAVE YOUNG LOGGERS HERE'S WHAT I HAVE TO SAY
WHEN YOU MEET A SKYLINE LOGGING CARRIAGE GET OUT OF ITS WAY

NOW I'M UP IN HEAVEN AND ITS LIKE A LUMBER CAMP
WHERE THERES PANCAKES EVERY MORNING AND YOUR CLOTHES ARE NEVER DAMP
WHERE VIRGIN STANDS OF TIMBER ARE JUST WAITING TO BE FELLED\
AND PRETTY GIRLS IN FLANNEL SHIRTS ARE LOGGERS THERE AS WELL

YOU CAN TELL IM FINE AND DANDY SO DO NOT WEEP FOR ME
BUT PERHAPS YOU'LL SEE MY SPIRIT PEEKING OUT BEHIND A TREE
OR LAUGHING IN THE MOONLIGHT OR DANCING ON A LOG
AND YOU'LL SAY IS THAT YOUNG COLE OR IS IT JUST THE MIST AND FOG
