Subject: RE: Online clubs query - meetings via Apps? From: MoorleyMan Date: 19 Sep 24 - 03:34 PM Short answer Suzy - no! I've been running zoom folk clubs myself too since Covid days, and while zoom has its disadvantages it's proved efficient generally and it has the advantage that it's the easiest by far for users. From all accounts, Discord is un-user-friendly, messy, clunky and awkward to use, and requires much more tech savvy than zoom for all parties. My advice would be to gently solicit donations from your loyal regulars. It's a friendly gambit, and (depending on your size of clientele) usually gets at least a good measure of response if not the full cost of a zoom pro account. Hope this helps some. |
Subject: Online clubs From: GUEST,Saucysongstress Date: 18 Sep 24 - 04:39 PM Apologies if this has been asked before, but the search doesn't seem to be working and I'm getting an error message. I have been running an online folk club via Zoom since Covid days, but Zoom is getting a bit expensive. Has anyone tried running online clubs via any other apps/programs, such as Discord? And how successfully did these work for music if so? Many thanks for any help that can be offered :) Suzy - BFAC Zoom |
