What's the difference between phishphan's post, and the Dick Gaughan info on another thread? Just curious? Seamus

The debate is over the repeated postings, that are not just double-posted due to posting error but appear to be periodic postings of the same info from the same source.

The discussion has been moved to another thread by BlueJay, who articulated the issues so clearly in his posting above. To explore this with us, Click here

It appears to me that phishphan is just trying to be helpful. I don't see it as a problem as long as it doesn't get out of hand.

I suppose it is a matter of courtesy whether a stranger should be making such a posting. Personally I would have got to know people first. But maybe a Mudcatter suggested that he post here, we don't know. give him the benefit of the doubt.

Welcome to Mudcat phishphan!

BlueJay,

I like the set of your wings, and I agree in every respect.

'Cateers:

Does anyone think Blue Jay or I should not e-mail the sender with that basic message? D'ye know 'em? I don't mind online postings of concert info from any source-- if someone I love to hear was going to play nearby, I'd probably drop everything and head over. But three postings? It looks kinda Spammy. (We could send them the Spam songs in repayment.)

Praise- Good question. I've noticed this thread with no responses. I see a couple of possibilites. The subject is of very limited geographical interest, as I doubt that I would fly to Norfolk, VA, to see ANYBODY in concert. Also, as a relative newcomer, I'm not sure if it's appropriate to start threads which appear to be advertising. Is there a rule about this, either written or implied? As a neo-nerd, I've not seen anything one way or the other. Maybe I haven't looked enough, but is there such a thing as a Mudcat Rulebook, or is the only rule is that there are no rules?
Now I don't know anything about Kenney Wayne Sheppard, except that he is a very young, and from what I've read very hot blues guitarist. I would hope that the Mudcat would not discount him based on his age. I've played with lots of folks 20-30 years my junior who are very impressive. If KWS were to play in my neck of the woods, I might just be grateful for the information.

Even if it's against some imagined rule, PhishPhann1 is a guest who may just have the lyrics I need. Thanks for your post, PhishPhann1, come back and you'll get addicted like the rest of us. IMHO, BlueJay
