I was so surprised to come back here and find not only the lyrics, but someone else who remembered the Prairie Home Companion show it was on. Gene, thank you so much. And Catspaw, I think it was the beautiful harmony that I liked as well.

Thank you again. Cynthia

Holy Zot Batman!!! Sometimes this place is strange!!!

I too remember them singing this and I thought they had a great rendition of it on PHC, but I had totally forgotten it at this point. Thanks to Gene for posting the lyrics! To my knowledge, its not recorded on any of their albums (Robin and Linda) but the harmonies they sang were just beautiful, as they generally are. At that time, it made me think of a girl I had loved in college about 15 years before that. First real loves are always special. Now I'd have to change the lyric to 30 years ago!

Spaw

Subject: Lyr Add: FIFTEEN YEARS AGO (from Conway Twitty)

FIFTEEN YEARS AGO
Recorded by Conway Twitty

I saw a man today who said he talked to you,
Not so long ago, I think, a month or two.
As my mind raced back in time I prayed, O Lord, don't let it show.
He thinks I forgot you fifteen years ago.

Fifteen years ago and I still feel the same.
Why did he have to mention your name?
I'm as broken up inside as if it's been a week or so.
Takes a mighty strong love
To keep a man thinkin' of
A girl he hasn't seen since fifteen years ago.

I've got a lovely wife who thinks the world of me,
Promised her my love thru all eternity.
I've tried to hard to make her happy and so far, she doesn't know
I can't shake this thing of fifteen years ago.

Fifteen years ago and I still feel the same.
Why did he have to mention your name?
I'm as broken up inside as if it's been a week or so.
Takes a mighty long time
To get a real love off your mind.
I know I've tried since fifteen years ago.

Subject: Robin&LindaWilliams Song?
From: GUEST,Cynthia P.

A long time ago I heard a song that I am almost sure was done by Robin and Linda Williams on Prairie Home Companion. This was probably back around 1984 or so. I don't know. I loved it but have never run across it. I remember a few lines-----

"It takes a mighty long time to get a true love off your mind, I still remember her from fifteen years ago." Also a line like, "Fifteen years ago and I still feel the pain"

Can anyone here help me out on this song? I'd even setle to figure out if its on one of their or somebody's albums. I have been to the Williams site to no avail and nothing sounds familiar in the titles listed. HELP! Please? Cynthia
