Subject: RE: Help: Toronto radio stations From: GUEST,Willie-O Date: 14 Jun 00 - 01:04 PM In Central/Eastern Ontario, 91.5 FM; within range of Kingston, 107.5 FM. CBC Radio Two, formerly CBC-FM, plays more classical but also folk and world and so on, especially in afternoons and Saturday morning. Try around 103 FM. |

Subject: RE: Help: Toronto radio stations From: sophocleese Date: 10 Jun 00 - 05:21 PM How big is your Toronto area? Pene's got it right for when you're right in Toronto but I live an hour and a half's drive north and I get it on 91.5. The last time I drove into Toronto my sognal faded and I didn't know where to get the local one until I saw it on a billboard. |
Subject: RE: Help: Toronto radio stations From: Pene Azul Date: 10 Jun 00 - 03:26 PM According to this page it's 99.1 FM (if that's what you're looking for). You can also get CBC webcasts in RealAudio or Quicktime here. PA |
Subject: RE: Help: Toronto radio stations From: Mike Regenstreif Date: 10 Jun 00 - 03:22 PM A couple of years ago, CBC moved their AM stations in Montreal and Toronto (and perhaps elsewhere) to the FM band. They now call the old AM network CBC Radio-1. The FM network is CBC Radio-2. The Montreal frequency is 88.5. If you search on the CBC website I don't know about Toronto, but the move in Montreal was a stupid mistake. The reception was much better on AM. In fact, the reception for CKUT, at 90.3, is much better than for the CBC at 88.5. Mike Regenstreif |
Subject: Toronto radio stations From: GUEST,hollowfox, visiting her folks Date: 10 Jun 00 - 03:11 PM Once upon a time, when I lived in upstate New York, I listened to Canadian radio, rather than the local stations. This was in the days when AM radio predominated, and my station of choice was CBL (740) Toronto. The last time I was in the area, I was unable to find this station, or an equivalent. I'll be in that area again next week, and I'd like to hear the CBC again. Can anybody tell me the dial setting(s), AM or FM, that I should use? Thanks in advance, Mary. |
