Subject: RE: New Corries Songbook From: Nynia Date: 22 Jun 00 - 05:27 PM Hi Pooh Bear, there are six albums available mail order available from this site under the folk song heading. They seem pretty quick, twice i've used them and the longest i've had to wait was four days. http://www.scottish-irish.com/ |

Subject: RE: New Corries Songbook From: PoohBear Date: 22 Jun 00 - 08:39 AM How can I get my hands on a copy of whatever's available? All I have is a very bad tape of a couple of their albums and would do just about anything for a songbook - and better recordings. Are there any video tapes of performances? I get the feeling from the side comments and laughter that I can hear that they were amusing on stage (to say the least) Cheers! PoohBear |

Subject: Corries Songbook Vol2 From: GUEST,Kevin O'D Date: 22 Jun 00 - 08:09 AM Hi everyone I spent the last year or so working in my spare time on the music transcriptions for the new Corries Songbook. I would like to know if any Mudcatters have gotten their hands on a copy yet and if anyone has some feedback - positive or negative. The creation of the book was mainly a joint effort between myself and Gavin (Ronnie Browne's son), with editorial input from Ronnie, and Ken Dempster who is a respected Scottish composer. The Corries recorded around 300 songs during their career, 91 of which are now available in print as they performed them. Gavin & I plan to keep plodding on with the others until they're all published if there is sufficient interest. Looking forward to hearing from you. Kevin
