Subject: RE: BS: Cedar Creek reenactment From: GUEST,Pete Peterson Date: 19 Oct 00 - 12:10 PM Have a great time! Fletcher Pratt (who wrote the best one volume treatment of the Civil War I know) thought it was one of the decisive battles of the war and shows what one good leader can do. (and Sheridan twenty miles away!) |
Subject: RE: BS: Cedar Creek reenactment From: MMario Date: 18 Oct 00 - 10:31 PM Neil, have a good trip! |
Subject: RE: BS: Cedar Creek reenactment From: Uncle Jaque Date: 18 Oct 00 - 10:28 PM Several of the Third Maine will be in attendance, but alas; not I. I think that they are falling in with Vincent's Brigade, as there are other III Corps units affiliated therewith. We are considering Bull Run June 2001 (perhaps we can work the Mystic Seaport Festival into the same trip?) but little is known about it at this point. Are you with the 69th NY? I have one of the repro 1842 .69 smoothbores, the originals of which were so fancied by the Sons of Erin; bayonet & buckshot, up close & personal, B'garrah! |
Subject: RE: BS: Cedar Creek reenactment From: Lindsay Date: 18 Oct 00 - 03:19 PM I am not familiar with Cedar Creek. Was this Civil War (he said, subracting 136 from 2000)? I do F&I myself. Lindsay |
