Thanks Scott. I live in Yorkshire, but I may well be in scotland over the hogmanay period. As I know bugger all about concertinas, I can't really tell you what is wrong with it, other than to say that it plays one note even when no buttons are pressed, and I dont think all the other buttons work either.
