Subject: RE: BS: Anyone in Whitby this weekend? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 01 Apr 01 - 04:49 PM By the way, they won. Cheesy photos with cup can be had by PM me..... I don't recommend it...... We had a great time, Phoebe wasn't thrown out of anywhere, I actually managed to drink 3 pints of beer (3 times my normal weekend intake..... unless in the song circle.... and built a sandcastle. The weather was gorgeous, who said Whitby was going to be freezing? LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone in Whitby this weekend? From: Manitas Date: 28 Mar 01 - 12:27 AM Liz has been pre-empted on this. There is a gathering of sword dancers in the Tap & Spile near the station on Friday night. On Saturday East Saxons will probably do a couple of warm up dances in the pedestrianised shopping street (is it Baxtergate?) before the competition which is at the Spa Pavilion in the afternoon. There will probably be more drinking in the Elsinore (or the one opposite depending on the availability of food) and in the Plough. We hope to be doing a rapper tour of the pubs in the evening after eating. (See, I said he never tells me anything! LTS) That's because it was only sorted out yesterday.

Subject: RE: BS: Anyone in Whitby this weekend? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 27 Mar 01 - 04:48 PM How are they with children? Will I be frogmarched off with them? LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone in Whitby this weekend? From: Linda Kelly Date: 27 Mar 01 - 04:21 PM ooh yes I forgot about that one and the food in the dolphin at RHB is absolutely wonderful. Don't take the mobile phone though, they use to frogmarch you off the premises. |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone in Whitby this weekend? From: nutty Date: 27 Mar 01 - 03:52 PM Theres a very friendly Sat Night folk club at MICKLEBY which is about 12 miles from Whitby going towards Teeside, There's also Friday Night at Robin Hood's Bay |
Subject: RE: BS: Anyone in Whitby this weekend? From: Linda Kelly Date: 27 Mar 01 - 03:18 PM If you are still there on Sunday Liz, then try the session at the Tap & Spile on Sunday evening which is generally run by another catter Mandomad. |
Subject: Anyone in Whitby this weekend? From: Liz the Squeak Date: 27 Mar 01 - 01:58 PM Manitas, the Bratling and I will be in Whitby this weekend (don't bother burglaring the house, the cat sitter is living in and all the good stuff will be with us. Just melodeons left... actually, the spare key is under the third flower pot to the right....), and wondered if anyone else was going to be around. Of course, he has told me nothing of the details, except that the Sword Dance Team are performing, going by the name of East Saxon Sword. They usually do it in pubs (where else?) and I'll be the bored looking one attempting to stop child from throwing itself under their feet, or attempting to throw said child off the cliffs. LTS |
