Great to see all those who turned up. Really good night - if you weren't there, you missed a treat! Judy, especially nice to meet you and hear you sing (I particularly enjoyed your girly drinking song "Here's to the laddies" I'd love the words)- have a great time in Holmfirth and enjoy the rest of your trip.

Sue

A great night was had by all. It turned out that our American visitor is a mudcatter all along... Judy Predmore. Hope Judy gets the chance to meet up with some more UK catters while she's over here.

I've asked in the help and trouble Forum for the title to be changed- good idea.

Catrin and I will be there tomorrow, and we intend to have a jolly good sing! good sing. Be 'warned' though... the ambience is very traditional singing, so may not suit everybody.

Noreen

I changed the name. Hope it's OK. --JoeClone

FOG is Friend Of Gnome - my ajolopies. Thought everyone was in on the joke - bad as it is....!

Cheers and enjoy it with or without me and FOG (Phil)

Good idea about the rename. If it doesn't happen why not just start a new thread? I'll do it if no-one else has by tomorrow.

Cheers

Been in Canada since 1977, lived in Smithy Bridge Littleborough since 1971. Still read the thread, cos I knew where the Ducie Arms is. Too bloody far, have a good un. JohnB

Could a joeclone rename this thread?

There are several Manchester catters who may be interested if made more clearly aware of the location.

Thanks

Dave with FOG? please explain.

I'll try my best to be there, my girlfriend is however sometimes 'demanding' but I still love her

damndamndamndamndamndamn

I have just realised that we are child free all this week!

We may need to capitalise on that sitation rather than go out to folk clubs. Why do all good things happen at the same time?

Anyroads. If I get there I may be with FOG as well.

See you....

or not. Good luck anyway.

PS This American visitor apparently runs a similar type of club in the States. See you Wed. (Usually gets going about 9-30pm)

Long answer .....

This person is over, visiting the Holmfirth Festival.

She looked on the Net for places of interest and found the Ducie info, spoke to Terry on the phone and is looking forward to coming on Wednesday.

Short answer .....

.. No!

This is a haven for unaccompanied singers and can be 100% recommended. Geordie Broon

We have a visitor coming on Wed from "over the pond". She apparently runs something similar in the States. It would be good if as many regulars turn up as poss and new traditional singers are always welcome. (Is this an oxymoron? new/traditional!) PS The Ducie is a small pub at the back of Manchester University. From Sue vG
