Look, people, you use polish to make the guitar shine, not to tune it. Am I right, or am I right?

He already stated that he is a mandolin player, send him a diagram with corresponding notes there.

maybe to late Marc Bernier

Thanks Guys - got an email from someone in Poland who gave us some Polish sites. Me and my Dad sorted it out between us - if anyone else wants the info I have it now!

Out of interest, from what Dad says, it may not be easy to get the info so somply in Byelestok (Sp???) - or that easy to buy stuff like tuners either. They seem to be having it quite rough there. Anyone going over or in contact with anyone may want to bear that in mind.

Cheers

Hallo Lads, I am very Impressed, that the english-speaking guys know so much about our language. Polka indeed means "Polish Woman" but the word describing the dance has different roots. In fact, dance called polka came to Poland from Czech. Dance: "Polka" does not come from Polish Woman, but from "pole" - the Field. So, if you dance on the field, you dance Polka. Best regards Pawel Dziemski www.dudziarz.px.pl/polskie.html

PS. A tak przy okazji to naprawde gram muzyke irlandzka :)

Lacking someone who can provide text in Polish, you might make a diagram of a piano keyboard and a guitar, indicating which notes each string is tuned to.

I suppose it's simplistic to assume that you get a tuner and tune the strings to equivalent alphabeticals?

Long story short. Dad's cousin in Poland. Good mandolin player, apparantly, is learning to play guitar. Doesn't know how to tune it. Can anyone send me Polish instructions for performing said task? Would you please email me at dpolshaw@btinternet.com if there are any attachments or graphics. No good me looking for a Polish langage site as I don't speak or read the language.

Many thanks in advance.

Dave the Gnome
