Subject: Lyr Add: SHE'S YOUR MUM From: Jim Dixon Date: 23 Jan 22 - 10:36 AM These words were used in a radio Mother’s Day ad for Outback Steakhouse. The ad originated in the US—after all, Outback Steakhouse is an American company, founded in 1988—but they’re obviously trying to sound Australian. No date is given for the ad, but comments indicate it is old, and it used to be used every year before (American) Mother’s Day but has been discontinued. I assume all the commenters are American, and they seemed to know the song only from the ad. Thanks to GUEST,999 for providing the link. This is my transcription: No one ever loves you like your mum, mum. Ev’rything we owe, we owe to mum (we owe to mum), mum. Even when she whacks you on the bum (whacks your bum), mum, Mum’s the word and so the word is mum (that’s me mum!), mum. One mother’s day a year is fine for some, mum, But we know our mother’s job is never done (it’s never done), mum. You will always be our number one, mum. Mum’s the word and so the word is mum (that’s me mum!), mum. |

It's from the Outback Steakhouse ads on the radio, it's in the style of Australian digeridoo music and they always play it around Mother's Day. It goes something like: No one ever loves you like your mum (mummmm) We know a mother's work is never done (mumm) even when she whacks you on the bum (mummm) You will always be our number one (mummm) Mum's the word and so the word is Mummmm. *Elektra* |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: She's Your Mum From: Devilmaster Date: 25 Dec 01 - 11:25 AM well, just speaking out loud and the obvious, the bit genies heard is used as a radio jingle for Outback Steakhouse. Went looking for a link or something, but can't find it. But from what I remember, there wasn't much to it. The jingle pretty much goes like this: mum.....mum.....mum.....everybody loves mum.....mum......mum.....even when she slaps your bumm...bummm.... everybody loves mum.....mum.....mum.....its a day for mum....mum....mum... Whether its an actual song, I dont know. Will keep an eye out. Might be able to find it in a (gasp!) place like morpheus, if someone recorded the commercial. |

Subject: She's Your Mum From: GUEST,Genie Date: 08 Sep 01 - 04:36 AM Every Mother's Day I catch part of a funny British Song on the radio, something about "She's Your Mum ... even when she beats your bum ... ." It sounds like the kind of song ruggers would sing after a few pints. I couldn't find it in the forum or DT. Surely, some of you catters must know it. Can you help? It's such a tender, sentimental tribute to Mom! Genie |
