Subject: RE: why i joined mudcat From: AliUK Date: 13 Oct 01 - 07:05 PM 'spaw, vegemite is a poor copy of the original MARMITE. Which is a thousand times tastier and which I actually lust after. Anybody who takes a trip to the UK has to bring me back an economy size jar to get me through the year. |
Subject: RE: why i joined mudcat From: catspaw49 Date: 12 Oct 01 - 09:45 PM Swoopy, I'm gald you've joined us here at the 'Cat, but I'm especially grateful that you have explained your reasoning for doing so. By doing so, we can now see our errors and so won't be answering anymore requests like yours again. Since you're here and all, you might as well know that we have a goodly clan in the village from your part of the world, the land of Oz. My family doesn't care much for aussies anymore ever since the crew down there hooked me on Vegemite which I consume (and hence expel) in copious quantities. It smells bad straight from the jar, but once it's been processed, it's a real killer. I figure that's why so much of Australia is desert. Spaw |

Subject: RE: why i joined mudcat From: mousethief Date: 12 Oct 01 - 01:09 PM Welcome aboard! Just a word to the wise: beware of Spaw (catspaw49)! His fart is worse than his fight (to coin a phrase) but sometimes he comes across as being downright cranky. He isn't. He's just a crank. Seriously, he's a lovable loon but sometimes he has a brusque manner. Don't let it fool you. Underneath is a heart of gold-spray-painted papier mache. (I say all this because I thought he was out to get me when I first got here -- it was just his sense of humor, and I didn't realize he was just trying to be humorously neighborly). Alex |

Subject: RE: why i joined mudcat From: Allan C. Date: 12 Oct 01 - 07:45 AM It is a bit confusing to have someone post as a guest and tell us that they are a member. However, I see that you are, indeed, one. Glad to have you aboard! (You might want to click on "Membership" [above] to be sure your cookie is as it should be.) |
Subject: why i joined mudcat From: GUEST,swoopy Date: 12 Oct 01 - 07:32 AM After posting a thread starter on the song "Aint no mo Cain" and getting such a stack of interesting and even impassioned info, I couldn't help joining. I only know it through the Band's version, had no hoope at all of deciphering the lyrics, or even if it was meant to be Cain (as in Virgil) I dont know if I'll ever hear many of the versioms referred to, (i'm in Austaralia)but at least I know they're there |
