Troublesome, fractious, intractable, uncontrollable, unruly, recalcitrant, wild, rebellious, unmanageable, uncooperative, headstrong, bullheaded, pertinacious, willful, obstinate, mulish, incompliant, incorrigible, insubordinate, ungovernable, unsubmissive, unyielding, impossible ? Now I know who you mean, LH.

We can ignore him, but why don't we just really piss him off and NOT hate him!

I LOVE YOU GUEST!!!!!

YES - GUEST prefers being hated to being ignored...so let's ignore him! See my "Why is this place so redundant...so redundant...so redundant..." thread.

Cheers,
Michael

It's similar to the "it's better to be in trouble than to be ignored" attitude displayed by restless dogs and children...

Are our GUESTS suffering from parental neglect?

DougR, I guess I am just an old innocent who tries to find good in all things.

I will take your advice and refrain from any more encouragement.

Because, Spot, Guest get his kicks reading posts like yours, and others who have taken the bait.

Someone of much import said one time, "It is better to be hated than ignored." I think it was Kendall. That is the philosophy of Guest and others like him/her.

Ho, ho! Do you actually think any of us would DARE to name the most recalcitrant member of the Mudcat??? Certainly not I. There are individuals on this forum who, if irritated or pestered, will dart forth like a moray eel from his hole and rend the unwary net wanderer with a flow of verbal abuse which would have reduced Blackbeard the Pirate to stunned stupefaction.

Beside them Mudcat's anonymous GUESTS are mere pallid, impotent, umimpressive virtual nonentities...beings of a not even slightly puissant stature. They crawl around the edges of this forum namelessly like Chuchundra the Muskrat, afraid to ever come to the center of the room.

I have no intention of naming any of the Mudcat's most recalcitrant members, let alone the THE most recalcitrant one of them all! (*shudder*)

Now "sybaritic"...there's a great word! Thanks, Minstrel!

Joe

I agree but GUEST did introduce (me at least) to the Flame Warriors site, which I found pretty entertaining and funny.

Do you recognise the Nanny? *grin*

No offense intended

I guess I'd have to agree that "recalcitrant" is a perfect description of our anonymous Guest. He/she should be well aware by now that most Mudcatters feel taken aback and maybe a bit frightened by leering potshots from unknown sources - kind of like being in the gunsight of a sniper on a rooftop.
"Pariah" might be another good term. He/she is certainly worthy of our disdain. It seems to me that the sole purpose of this thread was to cause trouble, and to do so anonymously.
I don't like you, Guest.

Hmmmm...a strange & inappropriate choice. Surely one of the other 'S-words' would have fitted better?

Not that you were going to pick THIS one, of course:

I'm quite looking forward to reaching 'S'

Then we can get Guests views on

Sorry, its a slow day....:D

The first sentence illustrates the "Guest" and its attitude

The second sentence illustrates the appropriate actions to be taken to it for not being open

John,

recalcitrant adjective: Marked by stubborn resistance to and defiant of authority or guidance

Recalcitrant ultimately derives from Latin recalcitrare, to kick back, from re-, back + calitrare, to strike with the heel, to kick, from calx, calc-, heel.

Nearly

No

For you have not missed it, you have posted to it.

As have I.

If no one else is as silly as both of us, this thread will just fall off the bottom of the Mudcat world.

I will place a bet on the fact that this unfortunately will not be the last contribution to this thread.
