Thanks for the thread, oldheads. And thanks for the link to the DT, Jeff. I never would have thought to look for this song in the DT, but I've been wanting the lyrics for some time. I loved the song as a teenager.

If you remember the tune, the chords are a piece of cake, BRW.

Absolutely, Gareth. It was definitely late 50s, '58 if my poor old memory still works at all. It was a real hoot for the drag racing generation.

Beep Beep !1 I vaugly rember a UK version - It were'nt a Nash, it were a Bubble Car (sic) - Must b late 50's/ Early 60's - any other golden oldies remember this ????

I have a vague childhood memory of a song like this. Something to do with a driver trying to shake-off a little car that was following him. "beep-beep,beep-beep,his horn went beep-beep-beep" Each verse has the two cars going faster and faster until finally the little car draws alongside and asks how to "get this thing out of second gear" I don't think it made "Top of the pops" Sorry, not much help to your original request for chords and lyrics (why would you want them anyway?) but it may jog a memory for someone else.

There was a song a looong time ago....(50's). Chorus includes "It's horn went beep,beep,beep" about a Nash Rambler and a Cadillac meeting.....the singers were....???? and the name of the song was??????"The Cadillac"??
