Subject: RE: Good Public Domain Source - Free Music From: Bellowbelle Date: 28 Dec 02 - 12:48 PM Hmmm...Merry may actually be Cherry, but, it also looks like Cherry is actually Charles Grobe, at least when it comes to "When The Autumn Leaves are Falling," which is listed as a rondino by Grobe, at American Memory (but, listed by Cherry, elsewhere). Now, I'm confused... |

I don't find it anywhere online, so far...shall have to go check Levy and American Memory. Anyway, I just put it into ABC in my own files, but I'll wait until autumn to post it somewhere, since it's out of season, right now!! |
Subject: RE: Good Public Domain Source - Free Music From: masato sakurai Date: 25 Dec 02 - 07:24 AM A year ago I searched for Hark! 'Tis the Breeze (words: Thomas Moore; music: "Rousseau's Dream"--that is, "Aunt Rhody" tune) score, and found it at the site. However, saying that music was by "Jacques Rousseau" is incorrect. ~Masato |
Subject: RE: Good Public Domain Source - Free Music From: RangerSteve Date: 25 Dec 02 - 06:51 AM since the songs aren't from the original sheet music, I've noticed that some of them are missing one or two verses. |

Subject: Good Public Domain Source - Free Music From: GUEST,Bellowbelle Date: 24 Dec 02 - 06:57 PM I was looking up 'Shells Of Ocean,' which I have in a very old book, author given as 'Merry.' Turns out, it's 'Cherry.' Anyway, I found this GREAT site - you can get public domain info, free music (Click if the image is small, it may go bigger). There are copyright catches even with PD stuff, of course...if a copyright has been renewed, you must be sure that any new arrangement that YOU make is from an old, PD copy. Anyway...check it out. http://www.web-helper.net/PDMusic/default.asp |
