Hi everyone,

Sorry to resurrect this old thread after more than ten years(!!) but just wondering if anyone might still have a recording or accessible copy of the programme on Jacques Brel please?

I'm really interested in music, and sadly only recently found out about this Radio 4 programme and the one that Alastair Campbell presented about him a few years ago on Radio 4. If anyone might have a recording of either programme or might be able to point me out where I could get one, I would be really grateful.

Thank you! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

They go in for le dépression over there, it seems: read Le bossu de Notre Dame or (gulp) Les misérables!

Robb Johnson did an album with a few friends (roy bailey steve Knightly Tom Robinson et al) called NE ME QUITTE PAS, BREL songs by... Jon Harvison did LE Moribund abd used the real translation not the famous canadian one It is one of the most depressing songs I have ever heard. Cllr (this album is a must for all folk/Brel fans)

Just to add that anyone who lives outside our sceptred isle (yeah, right), and is interested in listening, can do so via the Radio 4 website

Also, if (like me) commitments mean that you can't listen live, Radio 4's Listen Again page makes most programmes available for 7 days after broadcast.

I'd just nearly finished posting translated lyrics to Jacques Brel's song Le Moribund (Seasons in the Sun) when it was announced on the radio that there would be a half hours tribute to the 'Twentieth-Century Troupadour' on Radio 4 at 11.30 Thursday morning (the 25th anniversery of his death)
I, for one, will be recording it.
