Subject: Origins: The Tu' la Project lulliby recording From: Walking Eagle Date: 01 Mar 04 - 09:39 PM I just had to put this on the 'cat before I forgot. There is a recording out called The Tu'la Project. It has lullabies from the Sub Saharan region in Africa. I heard it played on NPRs The World and it KNOCKED ME OUT. I am going to order it as soon as I finish writing this. One of the singers, a man, is on a tare to get people to sing and hold their babies when the young one is restive. He says he believes that loving arms and song when the child is young will make for a far more compassionate adult. This man is poor. He didn't get his information from a four hundred level college psych course! Praise the Great Spirit for this mans' passion. He believes that young children should be punished sparingly, and loved profusely. I believe that I have spelled the title correctly. Check the NPR website for a link to The World (03/01/04) for the title. There might even be an archive of the show and you can hear the spot for yourself. |
