Come back, for a moment to this throbbing breast, Again on my shoulders let thy brow rest Speak love, once more in thy heavenly strain Mary, dear Mary, Oh! come back again. Or this one? Dear Mary, or Farewell to Old England Or? I'll Never Forget Thee, Dear Mary |
Subject: RE: Who wrote Dear Mary From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 16 Mar 04 - 04:57 PM Linda Thompson wrote it with her son (and Richard's), Teddy. It appears on Fashionably Late (Topic TSCD821 and Rounder CDROUN3182). A transcription of the words can be seen at Sing Out: Dear Mary. |
Subject: Who wrote Dear Mary From: Damon Date: 16 Mar 04 - 04:31 PM I remember seeing someone, a few years ago, singing a song called 'Dear Mary'. I think the performer was called Linda Thompson, but I'm not sure {Richard Thompsons' wife maybe, I dont know}. I have no idea if this is an old song or one written by that performer, so any info would be appreciated. It certainly is a lovely song! Many thanks in anticipation damon |
