Subject: RE: Review: Sun Inn Beverley From: Guy Wolff Date: 25 Mar 04 - 08:37 PM Sounds like a lot of fun . I wish I could make it .God blues and that beautiful cathedral all in the same town .!! Yorkshire pudding too .. Just the difference between playing in spanish or open G tuning and playing in vestapol or open D tuning could shed some light on early blues styles . Crossnote tuning hits a whole other spot under the rib cage thanks to the likes of Skip James. Have a great time at any rate. Acordian can hit some great bass notes by the way , as can Tronbone or tuba. I love blues mandolin anytime . LITTLE RED HEN SAID TO THAT LITTLE RED RUSTER "LORD YOU DONT COME ROUND HERE AS MUCH AS YOU USED TO " CAUSE YOUR LONG GONE ...LONG GONE ...YOUR LONG GONE <><>< JUST LIKE A TURKEY THROUGH THE CORN !! |
Subject: RE: Review: Sun Inn Beverley From: mississippi john Date: 25 Mar 04 - 02:53 PM i'm hoping that the blues work shop takes off & will not be a one night wonder. BUT it all depends on all you people out there who like blues music. to start with its going to be first wednesday of the month ( 7th April ). but if there is a lot of interest I will make it once a fortnight. Henry Ayrton is going to give it a mension on his music show on radio humberside on sunday evening 8pm 28th March. and i'm hoping he is going to make the first session. Henry him-self is a good bottleneck blues guitarist in his ownright & has just start giging again. I'm hoping for people who can play blues but have no where they can play it, also people who would to learn. so get out your instruments & come down. |

Subject: RE: Review: Sun Inn Beverley From: lone shark Date: 24 Mar 04 - 04:36 AM I think you folks should read the thread devoted to Punch The Horse. Ivor Biggin has been exposed as one of your own. The excuse given by Oaklet insults the intelligence of the average mudcatter. |
