Thanks Murray, but I've got the Scottish Folksinger, I've got several recordings of the song. All I would like to know is, where and when did Dick Gaughan record it? - Susanne
Go here: Lyr Add: THE MAGDALEN GREEN--JoeClone, 22-Oct-2009.

See if you can find Norman Buchan & Peter Hall, "The Scottish Folksinger" (Collins, 1973), p.62. The tune is well known in Scotland also to "To Pad the Road With Me", and over here as "Peter Amberley"; but it's really Irish.

I have a recording of this song by Dick Gaughan, taped from radio ages ago. I can't find it on any of his albums. I've checked Dick's website, I've emailed him (twice - and not had a reply after a year or so). I'm getting desperate. -:) Does anyone know of a compilation or something that contains this song sung by Dick? - Thanks, Susanne
