Subject: RE: Moon River From: Liz the Squeak Date: 13 May 00 - 03:16 AM Sorry, am I the only person in the world who hasn't seen that film? Sung the song though - dressed as a clown with wire in my plaited hair so they stuck out, whilst standing with the rest of my choir who were in their robes, on a stage, in a field, with two giants looking on..... We sang 'going round the bend' once as a mistake and it sort of stuck.... Sorry... LTS |

Subject: RE: Moon River From: Peter T. Date: 12 May 00 - 06:48 PM Boy, I sure wanted that cat (Cat!) and George Peppard run over in a two car pileup. Or Buddy Ebsen appearing suddenly again with a musket and letting loose. yours, Peter T. |
Subject: RE: Moon River From: catspaw49 Date: 12 May 00 - 05:07 PM Yeah, and I agree....but I'm a sucker for schmaltz like that silly scene at the end with the cat........I know....hopeless. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Moon River From: Peter T. Date: 12 May 00 - 05:02 PM At last!! something that Catspaw and I disagree on! Lousy movie, wonderful woman. I mean really: George Peppard? Mickey Rooney? Did anyone involved with the film ever read the original story? Travesty. yours, Peter T. |
Subject: RE: Moon River From: catspaw49 Date: 12 May 00 - 04:48 PM All dysentery aside........"Breakfast at Tiffanys" is one of our favorite movies and for Karen and I, Audrey could do no wrong. Wonderful and beautiful actress, but an even more warm and compassionate person. Spaw |
Subject: RE: Moon River From: Peter T. Date: 12 May 00 - 02:51 PM Henry Mancini said that Audrey Hepburn's version of Moon River was his favourite among the thousands he had heard. yours, Peter T. |
Subject: RE: Moon River From: Wesley S Date: 12 May 00 - 01:29 PM I'll be marketing world peace in an exclusive contract with McDonalds and it will be called "McPeace". Or you can buy a "Peacemeal". Something I noticed a few years ago when I saw Breakfast at Tiffanys was that Audry Hepburn was really playing the guitar during this song. Nothing bugs me more in a movie than to see some actor gripping the guitar like a baseball bat sliding their hands up and down and not doing anything that resembles a chord. But Audry Hepburn gave every apprence of being able to play the guitar. For that matter so did Kirk Douglas in "20,000 Leauges Under The Sea". Sorry - that was some kind of Uke. But it impressed me anyway. |
Subject: RE: Moon River From: Peter T. Date: 12 May 00 - 12:53 PM Well, that about wraps this one up -- Mudcat strikes again!!!! Anyone got a recipe for world peace handy? yours, Peter T. |
